Dear friends- all donations greater than $30 go into the draw to win a fantastic weekend for two including flights- though in my heart I know that thats not really what motivates you. This chalenge is very interesting for me at many levels. At AMPLIFY09- The innovation & Thought Leadership Festival that I produce for AMP every 2 years, we had a fantastic lecture by Dr BJ Fogg from Stanford University who talked about the power of social networks and how that is transforming human interaction and behaviour. I think that Party for Strays is an OUTSTANDING example of this kind of new thinking and innovation and they should be applauded. Secondly- any of you following me on Twitter and Facebook will know that all my pets are desexed rescued strays...and as pragmatic business person, responsible citizen, intelligent and emotionally sentient human being, I'd rather see the problem of animals multiplying prevented rather than symptomatically addressed by mass killings. Finally- I think that we have a VERY exciting opportunity to innovate here using Social Media- running a live online stream in cyberspace in parallel with a real ball in "meatspace" - thats the new word for "in the flesh" physical experiences. I am looking for those among my talented, creative and influential friends to help me on this one- lets find some sponsors, some innovators, some cool people who like to do new things and build a case study that could change the world - especially as far as virtually connected parallel fundraising events are concerned. With people dressing up as cats for the Jellicle Ball, there will be HEAPS of visual richness and fun, and as a first- to my knowledge..there's HUGE opportunity here to get media coverage too.
